While the smoking level has fallen to record low, evaporation has become increasingly common, with some evidence that consider it to be a less harmful alternative to cigarettes.
But a new study by the Manchester Metropolitan University is opposing it, stipulating that electronic cigarettes are at least as harmful as regular ones-and at least in one major way, they are worse.
“At the beginning [of the study]I also believed that evaporation was more useful than smoking, ”Dr. Maxime Boidin for the Daily Mirror said.” You see many more people keeping these days because they don’t think it’s too bad. Many will be terrified to know the truth. “
The study began since 2023 and is expected to be completed in March, but Boidin is already sharing warnings he has collected from the results.
“What we have found is the dangers for someone who continues to steal does not differ from smokers,” he said.
They were able to associate vaping with the possibility of failure of organs, heart disease and brain issues like dementia.
It can also affect fitness levels.
“In this study, we looked at a group of young people with no visible signs of lung damage. Among people who had vaping or smoking for at least two years, we saw significant differences in how well they faced With the exercise, ”said Dr. Azmy Faisal, a senior lecturer in Cardiorshipful Physiology in Manchester Met, said last year.
“Smokers and vapers had excessive breathing while using exercise bicycles. They saw more difficult to breathe, their muscles were tired more, and they were less capable in general. In this regard, our research showed that evaporation is no better than smoking. ”
They also discovered that people who vaped had damaged artery walls that would not be diluted during a stress test, which could show heart problems in the future.
While the damage was clear to both vapers and smokers, Boidin noted that a clear change in smoking and evaporation behavior could make the latter more dangerous.
“Smokers tend to go out and smoke, and after finishing a cigarette they have to turn on another to continue,” he said.
“But with the vapors, you just go on and it’s much harder to know how many puffs you have had. Much is much easier to heat constantly because you can do it in places where smoking may be less acceptable.”
While this latest research offers a counter to tips that evaporation can help people quit smoking, other experts have come out in recent years to warn of the risk of electronic cigarettes.
The American Heart Association has called the rise of young people using vapors a “serious public health threat”, mentioning that most still have “very addictive” nicotine, which can be particularly harmful to brain development.
Steam can also contain chemical diacetyl, which has been associated with lung disease, as well as nickel, tin and lead.
There have been a number of startling reports of serious lung damage caused by evaporation as well.
Jordan Brielle, 32, told Kennedy News and the media last year that she died when her lungs crashed and the black goo was poured out of it.
She would be a smoker for a long time before crossing the steam in 2021, becoming as dependent as she shower and slept with a cigarette.
Eventually, she developed a terrible cough, lost her voice and observed as her body was inflated from the ankles on her knees, her skin turning gray and her mind failed to focus.
She was eventually rushed to the hospital, where doctors absorbed two liters of black juice from her lungs.
Other electronic cigarette users have complained about diseases such as “vaping disease” and “heat tongue”.
Research presented at a meeting of the North American Radiological Society in Agoikago last year also highlighted the dangers of evaporation, even when no nicotine is in the heat.
